Little Acre Kitchen, St Ives

I was super excited when I heard Lizzie and Dom were opening the Little Acre Kitchen in St Ives! With Lizzie being so successful with her beautiful events company and Dom being an amazing chef with his food business, this place is bound to be a tasty success.

When we arrived we were greeted by lovely smiley staff and I immediately spotted some amazing cakes on the counter! I had to be good though as we came for lunch, so I decided to order off the menu rather than be tempted by the sweet treats!

I ordered the buttermilk chicken ciabatta and M ordered the ham and cheese sandwich. The ham was sourced from the local Johnsons farm shop, and as a side note, Johnsons farm has the coolest crocodiles! It’s definitely worth a visit to check them out and it’s especially great for children. Also, incase you’re thinking, no you can’t buy crocodile ham from there! The crocodiles are just for show!!

The food was delicious and I have to admit that I’ve been back a few times as their menu changes regularly. The second time I had the meatball ciabatta and wow, that was so tasty too! For pudding we had a fried banana, chocolate brownie and caramel sauce sundae. The sad thing about it is that we decided to share, so M had half of it. I usually don’t mind sharing food but this was a big mistake as it was totally yummy!!!

The decoration inside was really trendy and quirky. They’ve hand painted the chairs quite minimally and everything is so clean and tidy. It’s just a lovely place, perfect if you want to meet a friend for lunch, get some work done on your laptop (they have power sockets by the tables!), or even bring your children. They have an area which is very child friendly with arts, crafts and books — which is a lovely little touch. They also have games for adults at the back too, so you can relax with a coffee and play a board game or two with friends!

We visited a few days after they opened and it was lovely seeing how many people were popping in to pick up a ‘grab and go’ lunch. It’s great to see people already supporting the local business and buying really good food, instead of just grabbing another Boots meal deal!

It definitely worth a visit, especially if you don’t have anything planned at the weekend as they do an amazing brunch. Speaking of brunch, I’m excited to let you know that they’ve given me a voucher for brunch for two (including cocktails) to giveaway to one of my lovely readers! All you have to do is head over to Twitter and view my giveaway Tweet to see how to enter. Or, to make it nice and easy, you can see the tweet below. Good luck everyone!!
