L’Oréal Pure Clay Masks

I was super excited to try these clay masks and after my local Boots only had the Purity Mask I decided I had to order the other two (Boots do an amazing free next-day delivery to store — love it). These must be super popular as I’ve never seen Boots have all three in stock since! The only face masks I’ve used are the Lush ones that smell of chocolate, and the Origins ones, so I was really exited to try out these. As they’re something totally new I wasn’t sure what to expect, however they mega impressed me!

The masks come in 3 different types: purity, detox and glow, which means you can multi-mask (use all three on your face depending on which areas need what) or just simply use one on it’s own depending your skin type!

I applied all 3 masks with my hands (however I would be tempted to use a foundation brush to save making a mess next time!) and left for 10 minutes. I then washed them off with a flannel! So, how did I get on…

I was super impressed with these products and my skin felt noticeably softer and a lot clearer. These are definitely products I’ll be using over and over again! I love the fact there are three of them, so if there’s one I tend to like more over the next few months I’ll be able to simply re-buy just that one. But the fact you can buy them individually is great for others who may not need all three. I really like the packaging and it gives the products a fresh expensive feel and yet they’re such good value for money. At the moment they’re on offer in Boots for £5 each (full price £7.99).

I was so excited about these I even put them on my mum to pamper her! When she took it off she was surprised how soft her skin was after, and the next day she text me to say it had removed all the blackheads from her chin! Pretty good eh!?

So here’s a little more about each of the masks.

The Purity mask is great for oily skin and I used this on my T-zone as it helps to purify and mattify. The texture of this mask is nice and smooth, and as it’s made up of 3 pure clays and eucalyptus this makes the mask feel calming, and I love the smell of it! I find it quite relaxing and it reminds of the smell of a spa — so this one’s a perfect evening mask!

The Detox mask is better for normal skin and I used this on my chin to cleanse and clarify. It contains charcoal which acts like a magnet to draw out impurities. This one is probably the worst colour out of them all 😂

The Glow mask is more for dull skin and I used this on my cheeks. It’s designed to brighten and exfoliate and it contains red algae which is great for brightening. This is probably my favourite one as it feels a like a scrub!

All three masks contain:

  • Kaolin: an effective natural clay and is known to absorb impurities and excess sebum.
  • Montmorillonite: a clay rich in minerals and helps eliminate imperfections.
  • Ghassoul: a pure clay which is highly concentrated in minerals and renowned to help clarify the skin.

What’s your current favourite mask? I’m always the hunt to try out new face masks so I’d love to know which ones you love! Comment below to let me know!
