How to Get out of a Lazy Skincare Routine and Start Caring

  • Includes Affiliate Links & One Gifted Item

I was recently at a skincare event with Maria and she was completely shocked I didn’t have a skincare routine. I had fallen into a bad trap of buying cleansing wipes for convenience on holiday and then carried on. Don’t let going away make you lazy with your skincare like I did!!

So how did I get out of the routine?

Firstly I made sure I didn’t re-buy the cleansing wipes, and it helped I was given a travel-friendly face cloth because the problem is no one wants to pack a wet cloth in their wash bag when travelling! Lookfantastic do a travel-friendly one which comes in a little plastic pouch and it dries super quick. I always take it away travelling with me. Annoyingly it’s not online so I need to hunt more down, please help find me some as one isn’t enough!!

Secondly, take off your makeup as soon as you get in on an evening, before getting too tired so you don’t fall into the “can’t be bothered” trap!

I also fell in love (and back in love) with some amazing products that I wanted to share.

Eve Lom
This has to be one of my favourite cleansers, and completely worth the expensive price tag. A little bit goes along way and although it’s not the nicest smell it does such a great job at cleaning my face without it feeling dry after. I rub a little between my hands, cover over my face and then rinse with a warm Eve Lom cloth.

Clinique Take The Day Off Oil
I had a sample of this and loved it, and when I ran out my friend gave me her one as she didn’t get on with it, so now I’m on my second bottle and hell yeah I will be buying a third, fourth and so on! I only use it to take off my eye makeup as I’m not keen on an oil taking off my whole makeup, but for my eyes it’s perfect as it doesn’t sting them and takes it off so quickly!

Glossier
This one completely missed being photographed as it’s a new discovery, but OH MY I could not miss this one off the list, this stuff is flipping AMAZING!! Take off all your makeup and no need for a separate eye remover. You can apply it to a wet or dry face and it leaves your skin feeling so super soft! This is my new favourite. Liz Earle Instant Boost Toner
I love this toner it has to be one of my favourite ones out there! I love Liz Earle Skincare however I do like mix up my products rather than sticking to all one brand.  This toner is so refreshing and smells great this is one I’m definitely going to be re buying when I run out of it.

So I have to say I’m pretty happy with my new skincare routine. It’s only 3 steps but it’s short and quick. On a weekend when I have more time I do pamper myself a bit more by trying and testing out other products.
