When it comes to Christmas decorations there’s only a few places that always get it so right year after year. John Lewis is one of those places, you can always trust them to have the perfect selection of decorations. I was recently shocked when I was at John Lewis Oxford Street to see that there was pretty much a whole floor dedicated to Christmas… I was literally in a dream!
So I headed to the Cambridge store knowing I had a few last minute Christmas bits to pick up. As I’m hosting Christmas this year for the first time (ohh gawd wish me luck!!) I knew I needed to pick up some more Christmas baubles because someone bought a much bigger tree this year 😇 (somehow it looked a lot smaller in-store, honest!) and I was maybe a little clumsy and broke a couple of our baubles from last year! I also needed to pick up some paper napkins for canapés and some table gifts. Each year we always make sure everyone has a little table present to open with Christmas dinner.
It turns out that this week is probably one of the best weeks to finish your Christmas decoration shopping as plenty of the baubles are already on sale and reduced. I guess most people are a bit more organized than I am! I really like how John Lewis lays out their tree decorations with the different themes. It makes shopping a whole lot easier and more interesting.
Our tree is gold, copper and cream and I picked up 4 more perfect baubles! The first is a gorgeous gold bauble topped with purple feathers. One of the others is a nice rose gold glass bauble but sadly I can’t find it online to link it up, but there was plenty in-store! Then I picked up a bauble from the Tales of the Maharaja Petal range which is gold and covered in gems. I spotted some mini baubles on offer as well so I got two packs of the rose gold ones as they’re are super useful and they will replace some of the packs of baubles I smashed while putting up the tree! The other bauble I picked up was a personalised one by The Handmade Christmas Co! You can do in-store or online which is such a lovely idea. They also do personalised gift wrap, stockings and sacks!
Then I found a bargain, some copper wire lights for £5.60 that I’m going to put in a vase along with some of the mini baubles I picked up. Moving on to napkins, I found some gorgeous ones with rose gold writing on that says Merry Christmas. These are perfect for Christmas nibbles and canepés, especially when you have guests and want to save on washing up!
Finally there was the last of the table presents to pick up, which was some Fudge by Alice Tait that has really cute London packaging and some Charbonnel et Walker Truffles. I also needed some gift bags for them to go in. Okay… and I may have also picked up a table present for myself which was a Marc Jacobs Liquid Lip Crayon in the colour How Rouge, as you can’t beat a red lip on Christmas day!
Don’t forget to check out the John Lewis website for some last minute bargains!
