Where I Currently Am…

This blogging life is like a rollercoaster. It can be really up and down and a bit all over the place if I’m honest! I’ve never been in an industry where I compare myself to others and worry about numbers, but let’s be honest, we all worry about numbers as in our industry. People who say they’re not worried about numbers have either pretty much made it past the major starting hurdles, or they’re totally happy blogging as a hobby and don’t want to try and build it into a career. If you have ambitions to become a full-time blogger and for it to support the costs of living then you simply have to worry about numbers. Numbers = reach = PR interest = money. When I say money here I don’t mean £££ to splash around, I mean money to buy food, help pay the bills and to re-invest into my blog and content.

A lot of brands just see numbers rather than the quality of work. We’re quick enough to judge and compare how well everyone else is doing rather than focusing on our own paths, and it’s something I’ve definitely been a victim of recently. It’s really time to start focusing on myself and my corner of the internet again. I want to put my all into content that I love creating and to work hard to grow and improve and be better at what I do.

I’ve been looking at my blog recently and have felt I’ve let myself down a bit with the quality of my content. Taking that time to reflect has meant I now know where I want to go with my blog. I want to focus a lot more on fashion and lifestyle. I’d also love to know what blog posts you would like as a reader so please do *comment down below* and let me know!

I think 2018 is going to be a really exciting year. The start of the year was already really fun, like the day I spent at L’Oréal, the afternoon with Olympus and a few other great brands I’ve worked with. Things have gone a bit quiet now and these times are scary, but you get through them. I guess that’s what self-employed life is like aye!? None of us can predict what’s going to happen in this industry we just all have to hope it continues to flourish!

I guess I’ve kinda had a writer’s block for a while, but this week I’ve really been focusing on my content and have written a few blogs. I just wanted to update you guys on where I’m at with it all, and don’t worry, I’m not packing it all in. I love doing this but sometimes it’s a really lonely place to be, and it’s really hard not to compare yourself to others.

If you’ve stuck with me to the end of this post then thank you so much. I really love and appreciate your support and it means so much to me x

Thank you for this heartfelt and emotional post.
I’m just starting as a blogger and I think it’s incredibly hard not to compare yourself to others who have thousands of followers who interact with their content.
I’m naturally a very impatient person so I’m like when is it going to all happen??? When am I going to be 100% successful???
But I think I had a breakthrough the other day – mentally, I mean – I don’t think I’m ever going to have that eureka moment where I know I’ve finally made it, because blogging is such an ever-changing beast! I think it’s about keeping on going, all bloggers supporting each other, and just doing your best for how you feel at that moment.
I hope 2018 is a good year for us both 🙂

Blogging is definitely going through some changes at the moment! But I love it and will stick with it. It’s hard when things get quiet but use it as an excuse to write the kind of posts YOU love and want to read x
