2017 is going to be my year of reading! If you’ve seen my what I got for Christmas video you’ll know how many books I received… so many books!! I’m so excited to crack one of my 2017 resolutions which is to read more. Before I can start reading any of these I need to finish my book from last year which is Everything Everything. It’s been a really good read so far and I’m so close to the finish now! Once I’ve finished that book I can dive-in to my 2017 reading list.
The Little Book Of HYGGE by Meik Wiking
I’ve wanted this book for a while after seeing it on everyones Instagram! It’s a book all about living the Danish way. Apparently Denmark is often said to be the happiest country in the world because of hygge! I’m definitely interested in anything to help make myself happier and improve my lifestyle, so I can’t wait to read this.
Frazzled by Ruby Wax
This book was sent to me by Penguin. I would love to make more time for myself in 2017 and do more mindfulness practices to help with anxiety. I think this book will be great as I’ve been having CBT recently so it’s the perfect time to read this.
Ctrl Alt Delete: How I Grew Up Online by Emma Gannon
I’m really excited to read this after listening to lots of Emma Gannon podcasts on my runs in 2016. I could technical call her my running partner it always distracted me and kept me running until the podcast finished! I’ll now be finding some time when not exercising to settle down and read her book, finally! I’m so interested as Emma is only a year older than me so we both grew up with MSN, MySpace, Bebo… yehhhh you get me!?
The Life Changing Magic of Not Giving a F**K by Sarah Knight
I’m the world’s worst for saying no to things I don’t want to do! I always feel so guilty and that I should say yes. Well, not anymore! 2017 is going to be a year of change. Hopefully, with help from this book, fingers crossed!
The Forgetting Time by Sharon Guskin
I saw this book advertised on the tube many months ago and I remember saying it sounded amazing. I’m not quite sure how Michael remembered it but I’m so glad he did as it sounds really good! It’s also Sharon Guskin’s first novel. If it’s as good as it sounds I hope she writes more!
Noah is four and wants to go home. The Forgetting Time by Sharon Guskin
The only trouble is he’s already there.
Never Look Down by James Kingston
If you’ve never checked out James Kingston’s YouTube channel then you definitely should! Well that is unless you don’t like heights! He basically climbs building (very high buildings!) and it’s crazy but I kinda love it. I would never do it myself but I just love watching! I’m really looking forward to reading more about him and how free- climbing has changed his life. Don’t worry, I won’t be getting any ideas!
Girl Online: Going Solo by Zoe Sugg
If you’ve seen this vlogmas video you’ll now know I was right that Michael had already brought it for me, which is why he was being off-ish in WHSmiths! I really enjoyed Zoe’s first two novels (I know everyone thinks she doesn’t write them herself but either way they are both very good). I believe Zoe has a lot of input into her work. Obviously she can’t do everything she isn’t superwoman! I’m really looking forward to reading this, although I feel I need to refresh my memory with the last book as it feels like it’s been too long!
The Million Dollar Blog by Natasha Courtenay-Smith
I saw this book whilst searching Amazon a while ago and I put it straight on my Christmas list! As you may know, this is my first year of blogging. I’ve learnt so much in my 11 months and I love everything about blogging and creating content and sharing it! I’m always interested in learning more and hearing others stories. This book has contributions by other bloggers including Lily Pebbles and Madeleine Shaw, two amazing bloggers that I follow already!
In a world where everyone wants to blog, how do you stand out?Natasha Courtenay-Smith
That’s a question I’ve been asking myself for while and I still haven’t found the answer! Who knows if this book will help me find the answer, however I’m hoping it’s certainly going to help! I have such high goals and dreams in this blogging world and I’m truly excited by it all!
Bloom by Estée Lalonde
I’m going to be honest, I don’t follow Estée on YouTube or her blog, however I love her Instagram so maybe I should watch some of her videos! When I saw this book I firstly liked the cover, its perfect I just love it, and I’d also heard so many great things about it, so I couldn’t resist asking for it for Christmas! I’m sure by the end of the book she will be my new favourite blogger. I’ll be reading her blog and watching her content!
Eat Smart by Niomi Smart
Niomi’s way of eating has always interested me. She sticks to a plant-based diet that she tried and liked, and then decided to switch to it overnight. Incredible! I would struggle to click my fingers and be like that! I’m currently reading the intro of this book. I love reading intro’s of cookbooks and I’m a firm believer that before cooking any recipes you should always learn more about the author/chef. I think it’s important you understand more about them, plus I just find it so interesting how everyone has different ways of consuming food! The recipes in this book look so yummy. I often watch Niomi’s ‘What I Eat in a Day’ videos and find them so good to watch! I’m looking forward to bringing more of a plant-based diet into my life for 2017!
Clean Eating Alice by Alice Liveing
I asked for this book after seeing it in Emily Askew’s YouTube channel and watching her make some of the recipes on her vlogs. They looked yummy so this book had to go on the Christmas list! I even ended up getting two of these books for Christmas, however as soon as I picked it up and saw the amazing recipes (I want to try and make every one!) I knew it wouldn’t be a mistake to exchange one of them for Alice’s second book! I’ve already cooked a few things from the book and wasn’t disappointed, so I’m so excited to try more!
Vegan Goodness by Jessica Prescott
I’m going to be honest, I totally chose this book because of the beautiful cover and photos in it! It’s SO colourful! I’m not a vegan but I’m trying to eat more veg and fruit so I thought by adding this book to my cookbook collection it will help and give me ideas and inspiration.
I hope you enjoyed this mahoosive blog post! If you did manage to make it to the end then please comment below and let me know if you got any books for Christmas! Keep any eye out at the end of the year to hear what I thought of the books and maybe you could put some on your Christmas 2017 list!
