Spring Cleaning!

Some of you may think this is a really boring post, but hey, it’s Spring and it’s the time a lot of people do some good old cleaning! I thought that writing this post might make it easier for some of you by letting you know about some of the great products I’ve come across.

When I was moving into a new place with M I didn’t quite release how much stuff I’d have to buy. I had to get used to all the food shopping and buying boring adult things like cleaning products!

I found some eco-friendly brands that work really great and all have such cool branding. I don’t mind spending a little more money on these products as I feel it’s worth it. I’ve found some cleaning products used to make my face feel itchy and I was always sneezing when cleaning (which made me used to dread it even more than normal!). Since using the eco-friendly products it’s so much better.

Here are some of the products I would recommend and why.

The first thing I liked about these were the fact you only need to buy one bottle and then you can use refills to top it up. I always used to throw away bottles which would be perfectly fine to re-use and it’s such a waste. It works out cheaper and it’s better for the environment, it’s a win-win!   They really stood out on the shelf too as the branding is really modern and cool. I bought all four products: all-purpose, bathroom cleaner, kitchen cleaner and window cleaner. I probably didn’t need the window cleaner as the E-Cloths I have work fine on windows with just water, however I thought it might be handy for my glass dining table which has a habit of marking really easily!

Okay I have to admit that I was sold on Method products purely by their design, but I was pleased to discover they also work great too! I have their all-purpose cleaner as well as their wooden floor cleaner and granite cleaner. The wooden floor cleaner is amazing — it’s a squirt and mop one which is great as it saves you the hassle of having to mix products with water. It brings up our wooden floors so well and smells of lovely almond. The method granite cleaner is great too, it really brings granite worktops up to a lovely shine.

Good luck with your spring cleaning, and if you have any suggestions for other cool products then let me know in the comments!

These are really great and I use them all the time. Although they say you only need to use water to clean with them I always feel I want to use a little cleaning product too — something in my head just thinks water isn’t strong enough! I use the normal cloth first to clean and then use my second smooth cloth to polish off (works great on taps, glass etc). They’re really great for collecting dust too!

Ecover Washing Up Liquid

This comes in many different scents (one of my favourites grapefruit and green tea) and you really don’t need to use lots of it; I find a bottle lasts me ages. If you have a stainless steel sink that always ends up looking brown by tea being poured down the sink (or if you have a boyfriend who’s not so good at rinsing the sink after using it!) I have a tip for you: use a small amount of liquid on the sink and get a washing up brush and scrub it. It removes all the brown stains in no time and brings up the sink looking shiny and new. No need for bleach or anything harsher on it!

All items in this blog post were purchased with my own money, and I wasn’t paid or asked to write about any of these products.
