Run One – 17th April
This week our runs on the Couch to 5K plan are slightly different, we have 3 different types of runs rather than repeating the same run 3 times!!
The first run this week wasn’t too difficult, the weather was good which always makes thinks easier and it also seemed to bring out the squirrels as we bumped into one during our warm-up walk! Sorry the photos aren’t great, they would have been better but M managed to scare him off and ruined my close-up! Can you spot the squirrel in the tree? Let me know in the comments below if you do.
Run Two – 19th April
This run was made up of a 5 minute warm-up walk (as always) then 8 minutes of running, 5 minutes of walking and finally 8 minutes of running again!! It’s pretty amazing that the route I was walking mostly at the beginning I’m now managing to pretty much run all of it! Crazy right!? Also it felt so good knowing I could actually run for longer if I wanted to. It’s definitely helped sticking with the same route each time because I’ve been able to easily see the improvements I’ve made over the weeks. Excited for the next run now… 20 minutes of just pure running!!
Run Three – 22nd April
This run was made up of a 5 minute warm up walk, followed by TWENTY minutes of running. I’m so happy to say that surprisingly it was a lot easier than I expected. I’m really excited for when I can start running with my own music, let’s just say the NHS hasn’t chosen the best music for this app!
Sorry there aren’t many photos this week, since I’m sticking to the same route there’s only so many sunsets and trees I can take photos of haha! Once we complete the Couch to 5K plan I hope to run lots of different routes, which will be nice for the change of scenery!
Now I’m ready to smash week 6 of the NHS Couch to 5K program… wish me luck!
