My Day at the Y Spa, Wyboston Lakes

Last Saturday I was invited to the #YSpaBloggersDay at the Y Spa in Wyboston Lakes and I most definitely wasn’t going to say no! It’s only 30 minutes away from Cambridge and had been on my list of things to do for a while.

When we arrived we had a very nicely prepared brunch in the Waterfront Restaurant which had lovely views over the golf club and the big lake. There’s also a café within the spa if you don’t want to get changed and head over to the Waterfront Restaurant.

We were served a choice of cocktails and I went for the blackberry fizz with a hidden chocolate inside a gold ball — very fancy! They also had coconut water and green juices.

We had the choice of parma ham & melon on toast with poached eggs, smoked salmon on toast with a poached eggs, a choice of omelettes from omelette bar, chicken liver paté with different breads or garlic and mozzarella pasta. Quite the delicious choice!

For pudding there was fresh fruit or panna cotta, which tasted so incredible! I had shared one with Sian but I soon went back for another one all to myself… being little miss piggy!

When then walked down to the Spa and ordered a bottle of prosecco to enjoy the day with.

The changing rooms felt clean and modern and all the lockers have wristbands, so no worrying to find a £1 coin! At the bottom of the changing room there were plenty of “getting ready” booths with mirrors, lights, plugs (useful for charging my phone) and hairdryers. It was all spread out with plenty of room which was great as there’s nothing worse than trying to get ready and fighting for the mirror!

I then headed outside to the heated hydrotherapy pool. It was very cold outside so it was lovely being in the warm pool and making use of the jacuzzi and taps. We then heading into the “Some Like it Hot Sauna”. I was in heaven… I love the heat! There was also a cooler sauna called “Softy”. They both had views of the hydrotherapy pool and it was really nice that you could relax with a view.

There was also plenty of sofas and blankets outside in front of the fire to rest and wrap up warm in (or to stand on to take photos and fall over backwards on… cough Sian!).

I then headed up for a facial. It was my second facial ever but OMG it was soooo relaxing. It was the Elemis supercharge facial and I highly recommend it! The only problem was it was over too quickly! I was so relaxed and my skin was so glowing the next day I didn’t really have to wear much make up! I’m definitely going to be introducing Elemis into my skincare collection!

Then I headed over to try the “Steamy” room and the “Salty” steam room. The salty room was my favourite out of all the rooms.

The Y Spa also has an indoor relaxing area with bubble chairs in front of the fire which were uber comfy. I was really hoping I would get to finish reading my book in one but that didn’t happen because I was having too much fun with the other lovely bloggers! It does mean that it’s a great excuse to book to go again though. Next time I’ll also be making use of the waterbeds, properly… because I may have stood on one to take a photo and ended up falling over! I just wasn’t expecting it to be a water bed! 😂 There’s also a quieter room with beds in if you want a proper nap. There’s something for everyone!

It was such a lovely relaxing day. I can’t wait to take Michael and then my mum and sister — that’s an excuse to go back twice already!

Thank you so much to the team at Y Spa for looking after us!
