After booking the MyBloomsbury hotel I was really keen to stay at their Chelsea hotel, and as we were planning two nights away for my birthday weekend, why not!?

The MyChelsea hotel is based in Ixworth Place, a short walk from Harrods and Kings Road. The MyHotel hotels are always in such good locations, especially for me as I needed to be in that area of London on Saturday. There’s also plenty of restaurants nearby, and that evening we headed a few minutes walk around the corner to Gaucho for steak, wine and cocktails which was pretty great!

When we arrived at the MyChelsea hotel the reception area wasn’t as big as MyBloomsbury, but then we discovered they were having work done, although I wouldn’t of noticed (I think they sectioned it off well) There were workmen doing work and it was a little nosy the next day as I heard a few drills later in the morning, but nothing that woke us up or affected our stay. So maybe if you’re planning a trip then make sure it’s when that work is complete so you can enjoy their refurb!

We headed to our room which was a superior room as we had a free upgrade (thank you MyChelsea!). While it was the same brand of hotel as MyBloomsbury the rooms were decorated quite differently, but still lovely! Our room had more white and pale pinks rather than the big bold colours of the MyBloomsbury.

Downstairs they stocked Tanya’s food, which is a plant-based food shop. They also have Crosstown doughnuts for sale (mmm)… the complete opposite to healthy plant-based food!! There was also toasties and other food to nibble on.

The staff were very helpful and let us have a bit of a later checkout as my father wasn’t feeling too well in the morning (too much food and wine perhaps!). Plus we had tons of luggage which they kindly let us take over to the reception area with while we went out in the morning! There’s a car park around the corner that the hotel gets discounted rates for so if you’re driving definitely ask them about that.

Overall I think I preferred my stay at the MyBloomsbury, however I’m pretty sure once the MyChelsea refurb is complete my view will change. I’ll definitely be booking again as I was super impressed with the MyHotel hotels. Next on my list is Brighton! Yes I did just say Brighton, they have one there too and who doesn’t like Brighton!? They have the sea!

Disclaimer: MyChelsea kindly upgraded us to the superior room during our stay, we also had a press rate for the room. For more information please see my disclaimer.
