We decided it was time for a little “staycation” last bank holiday weekend and we headed to Wells in Norfolk for a little trip away! We both had a crazy busy few months so it was so lovely to just pack the car up and head for the beach.
As we entered the cottage it was really tidy and clean (and even smelt clean!) which was a massive plus as I’m always slightly worried when going away to someone else’s house. I worry it might not be as clean and up to my standards as hotel would be — but no worries here at all! It was a nice spacious cottage with a garden and BBQ. Unfortunately it wasn’t hot enough to use the garden but I imagine in the summer it would be super nice.
The cottage was super easy to find and is in a great location right where all the town and quay action is. There’s parking just outside the front plus a car park over the road which isn’t too expensive. You can walk to the beach within 30 minutes or catch the little train (or drive!). It seems like you can use your car parking tickets any of the car parks so if you buy a day ticket then move around the different beaches and villages it’s a great way to see and explore everywhere!
One of my favourite places is Burnham Market which we drove to and had a little wander and went for a nice Sunday roast at The Hoste, I highly recommend! Burnham Market is an incredibly pretty and very Instagrammable place! Lots of cute shops and cafés! But let’s move back on to Wells itself. The cottage had an amazing ice cream shop next door… yes you did hear me right… NEXT DOOR ? AMAZING! Wells also has a really cute high street with lots of quirky shops. Definitely make sure to keep an eye out for my Wells shopping guide it will be on the blog on Wednesday!
