Okayyy so don’t get me wrong, I love my Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation and my Rimmel 107 lipstick, however spending a little bit more on the must-haves in my makeup collection is really worth it. So I thought I’d write a little on where I think it’s okay to splurge!
I’m still wearing the first ever Mac lipstick I bought, which is like 5 years old if not longer *yes Sophie I should probably bin it as it’s probably way off, but it still looks the same and doesn’t smell, so in my eyes its fine to still use!* The quality of the make up is really up there, and the products stay on your face a lot longer.
Some of the brands I’ve fallen in love with and really think are worth spending a little bit extra on are Marc Jacobs Beauty, Channel and Charlotte Tilbury. I’m not going to lie, my Charlotte Tilbury collection is getting pretty big. Her products are amazing!
So here’s some of my favourites I’ve picked out:
Okay so this has lasted me years (not joking!) but it’s getting pretty much empty now. It gives you the perfect glow without turning you orange. A little goes a long way which is why it’s lasted me so long. So definitely worth spending the extra on this one!
I picked this up because my Channel bronzer is pretty much gone and I wanted to try out a new replacement after hearing Anna from The Anna Edit praising this one. I thought I’d trust her word and give it go, and I don’t regret it. I love it! Plus it comes with a mirror that’s so handy, especially when you’re on the go!
I love this blush so much! After years of using a Mac blush I’m now picking up this one more often. It’s the perfect colour and really long lasting!
These eye shadows are so easy to wear, you just apply all over and then blend. There’s no need for eye shadow primer and they’re long lasting and stay on all day. One thing I’ve noted is that I don’t wear liquid eye liner with them as I find I have a black smudge mess all over my eyes by the end of the day! Not a good look to go for!
I’ve never been one to spend lots on foundation as I find it’s a product that just goes down quickly, however I really like the Clinque foundations. I’ve tried a few and one of my favourites is the Beyond Perfecting Foundation and Concealer. I find it best to go to a Clinque so you can get colour matched for your foundation. The amount of times I’ve picked up the wrong colour when buying a cheaper brand!
Okay, so I admit I am VERY late to the game with these! I know they’ve been people’s favourites for years however for some reason I was just never tempted by them until I picked this one up in the sales! It’s my first ever YSL make up product and I have to say I’m pretty impressed with it!
What are you favourite higher-end brands when it comes to makeup?
