So this time of year can get hectic pretty quickly! Suddenly Christmas is here and you still have presents to buy and work to finish. On Sunday I spent the day finishing my Christmas shopping at MK1 and making use of their free WiFi to get some emails sent and blog posts written!
When Michael and I lived back in Milton Keynes we would quite often go to MK1 on a weekday evening to do some shopping as they stay open late and the shops are much quieter than at the weekend. There’s such a wide range of shops, they have a Primark, Outfit, Next, M&S, River Island and a lot more. Not forgetting all the restaurants where you can refuel… essential for after shopping!
I needed to grab a few last items and to have a browse to make sure I hadn’t missed anything. So what did I pick up on my little shopping trip? I found the perfect long grey belted coat from River Island. I knew I wanted a long coat but I’ve always been worried they’d make me look too short! I’ve seen a few people wearing them on Instagram and thought they look so lovely. I’m so glad the sales assistant said it looked nice on me… that was all that was needed to convince me to buy it, plus it was a much-needed item in my capsule wardrobe! Also, and here’s a cheeky secret of mine… I always like to treat myself to a present before Christmas! Shhh 🙊
I headed to H&M which is a store I love. The MK one is really spacious. They had so many lovely chunky knits, I was so tempted to pick one up! I’m thinking off heading back to pick up Apres Ski jumper *photo below* I don’t know why I didnt buy it on the day! They also had plenty of party wear in and accessories. H&M was half in sale already if you’re searching for a last minute bargain.
We then headed to M&S and moved onto the more practical items that I needed to pick up. First up were some plain white material napkins for Christmas day lunch – I have a cute idea for the place settings so keep an eye out on my Instagram! I picked up some paper napkins the other day too for the canapes and nibbles. I’m really glad I also spotted a roasting tin on offer in M&S (half price at £12.50) as it’s something I completely forgot we needed as we’re hosting this Christmas! So even if you think you have everything ready for Christmas it’s probably worth a look around the shops just in case you’ve missed anything, like I actually had!
I was really impressed with the number of sales that have started early and the current offers on in-store at the moment — it’s perfect if you do want to catch an offer on those last minute Christmas presents.
MK1 currently have a competition on so make sure you check it out if you head over there! You can find out more information here.
