The Hoxton has been high up on my list of hotels to check out for a while now! I’ve attended a few events in their event space “The Apartment”, and since then I’ve really wanted to stay at the hotel… I just needed an excuse! Over Christmas it popped up on offer on HotelTonight and I decided to bite the bullet and go for it as a treat for Michael’s birthday! I always love staying over in London when we can as it’s one of my favourite places. and as I can’t persuade Michael to move there it looks like I’m relying on hotel stays to keep me happy haha!
When we arrived at the hotel we were greeted by friendly laid-back staff, and they even gave us some wine as it was Michael’s birthday which was super nice of them! The lobby area of the hotel is always mega busy with trendy people working on their Apple Macs — pretty sure The Hoxton is a giant advertisement for Apple! It does look like a super cool place to work though, and I know where I’m heading to catch up on work next time I’m in London!
Anyways, on this trip there was no work in sight (other than a few snaps of the hotel to share with you guys). That was part of the deal with Michael, it might have been his birthday treat but under one condition, I could snap the hotel room for the blog!
The room was obviously not the biggest, being in London the rooms tend to be smaller, however it was a pretty decent size, bigger than some rooms I’ve stayed in when I’m in the city! As we entered the room they had Chill FM playing on a Roberts radio which instantly just chilled you out, in fact, it chilled M out so much he ended up fast asleep with a little nap on his birthday when we had some downtime in the room — old age right!! I really like the interior of the hotel, it’s very modern with a bit of retro vibes going on!
The Hoxton has a Cheeky Nail parlour joined to the hotel so I headed there to get my nails done as the Cheeky polish is so long wearing and it’s not shellac.
After our evening at the theatre (you have to go watch Aladdin, it’s amazing!) we had a late dinner (about 10pm) in Hubbard & Bell which one of the restaurants in the hotel. We just ordered a few sharing plates, perfect as we both weren’t super hungry. We ordered calamari, bread, arancini, meatballs and ravioli! For pudding I ordered the carrot cake with pineapple and ohhhh my GOSH it was the best carrot cake I’ve ever had!! I would definitely recommend the food it was superb! Michael got the pretzel cheesecake which was apparently amazing too, but I was too busy with my carrot cake to notice!
Check out wasn’t till midday so I enjoyed a much needed lie in. I love it when hotels let you check out at midday! Also when we arrived we filled out a form on the paper bag and hung it on the door ready for our breakfast the next day! Such a cute touch, breakfast in paper bags! We had orange juice, yoghurt with granola and a banana.
If you need a spot to stay in London definitely check out The Hoxton. I’m already excited to go back, I love the location and I love the hotel!
Have you stayed at The Hoxton Holburn? I’d love to know what other London hotels you recommend.
This stay was not complimentary and was paid for by myself. I loved it so much I wanted to share it with you lovely lot! For more information please see my disclaimer.
