Okay so I’m not sure if this is something I should admit to but I really love listening to the Desert Island Disc’s podcasts… I just think music changes everything, for example, you could be having such a bad day and listen to a song and it can completely change it! It can also remind you of different stages of your life, like I remember once for months I just listened to Olly Murr’s album over and over again like I couldn’t get bored of it! I’m definitely someone who can play certain cd/playlist over and over again and never get bored!
I hate to admit it but I’m always the first one on the dance floor I love dancing and I love singing, yep I’m terrible at singing and my family hate it but I don’t care!!
So time for my first track:
Lulu — “Shout”
I remember when I was in secondary school I hated it so much and I use to have to get up mega early to be at the bus stop at 7am in the morning (I’m not a morning person) my mum would always have lulu album in the car and we would always have a sing to this song to cheer me up on the morning before my long day ahead!
The B-52’s — “Loveshack”
This is such a feel-good track! Also, my dad always use to be the DJ at our party this was like the first song which would be played to get everyone on the dance floor!!
Kenny G — “The Moment”
This song takes me back to being a child and falling asleep to it! Even now it totally relaxes me. My parents would play it on holiday while they have drinks on the balcony and my sister and I would have to go to sleep! It’s one of our favourite songs now I think because we must have listened to it so much on holiday that it’s sunken into our heads. Totally not a “get up and” dance song but it just brings back so many good memories of family holidays!!
S Club 7 — “Bring it All Back”
Okay, I was their biggest fan ever! I actually dragged my sister to their reunion concert and it was one of my favourite evenings I haven’t danced and sung so much I think before in my life! Well okay I didn’t dance much I admit I was too high up at the O2 to even stand up I was clinging on to my seat for dear life! We were right up on the highest level (note to self: never book those tickets ever again even if it means I get a ticket to a sold-out gig!) So yeah I used to listen to S Club all the time, I still even put them on and have a little dance to them!!

One Direction – “What Makes You Beautiful”
I was also one of the biggest One-D fans. I had a poster, pyjamas a pencil case and the lot!
Wham! — “Club Tropicana”
This reminds me of summer, my favourite season. Again I totally blame my dad for the love of this song as he used to play it when we were younger!
Right, now you know how awful my taste of music is, I’m off! If you want some recommendations for which Desert Island Discs podcasts to listen to I recommend the Jo Malone, David Beckham and Ed Sheeran shows.
I hope you enjoyed this slightly different post and I’d love to know what your favourite songs are, let me know in the comments!
