A Day at L’Oréal and Falling Back in Love with My Hair

So last month I headed over to Hammersmith to L’Oréal… yes big old L’Oréal little old me! I was incredibly nervous and excited, however as soon as I got there all my nerves disappeared and it was definitely one of my top blogging highlights!

L’Oréal have launched their new Instant Highlights in salons and I got to go and have it tested out on my hair! The technology is incredible, to get my hair from dark to light it took 30 seconds of heating each foil and then a 10-minute wait before washing off. Pretty quick ay..!? No more sitting and waiting for hours to lighten your hair! I was teamed up with Charles Worthington which I was super excited about as my sister always raves about them. I had the lovely Katie and Hannah colour my hair and I was really pleased with how it turned out. We went for “less is more”, which in this case was lighting up around my face but leaving the rest of my hair dark. I loved the result as I wasn’t quite ready to go lighter all over yet as I’ve only just gone back to dark!

I’m definitely going to book in with Katie and get her to do a slight balayage in the summer as I’m so happy with the colour. It’s always a risk going brown to light as sometimes it goes ginger!

For Christmas I got a GHD curling tong and man it’s the best thing ever, I’m so pleased with it. After years of curling my hair with straighteners trust me you get such a nicer and more natural curl with a curling tong! The GHD ones actually mean the curls last all day in my hair which is amazing as my curls never usually stay curly for long! I should have listened to my old hairdresser Lauren sooner as she was always telling me that was the trick! Lesson learnt, always listen to your hairdresser as long as you trust them!

When I went to L’Oréal they gave us a goodie bag to bring home, and one of the products that really stood out to me was the Mythic Oil. I’ve used quite a few different brands of oil and this one really stood out to me as it doesn’t leave your hair feeling greasy and it makes your hair feeling so nourished. The other products that were in the bag were the Serie Expert range with a shampoo, conditioner and masque. I’m excited to try these out but I’m currently using up my old bottles before I start the new ones. I’ll report back or show them in a monthly favourites video if I love them, so make sure you’re subscribed to my YouTube channel.
