A Girlie Sleepover at The Ham Yard Hotel

A few years ago I went to the Ham Yard hotel for afternoon tea and I loved the style of the hotel! I’m slowly going around all the Firmdale hotels trying the afternoon tea! The Firmdale group have some stunning hotels, and when Maria received an invite to stay over and asked me to be her plus one, of course I said YESSS!!

I had a few hours to spare before checking in so I headed to The Ham Yard Village where there is a range of shops and a hair salon based around the courtyard of the hotel. I found a cafe called Over Under which was just a really nice place to chill and do some work! Lots of power sockets, not too loud and not too busy. Thankfully! Sometimes in London it’s really hard to find a good spot to chill and work! Also, they played some cracking tunes, I may have been dancing along in my seat!

Once Maria arrived we checked into the room which had been kitted out with flowers, products and cupcakes from Goldwell which was the brand that had invited Maria along!

The room was stunning… the walls didn’t have wallpaper, well they did but it was more fabric than wallpaper, and the wall against the bed was painted a deep red and the bed had a quirky stand-out headboard! If only I could have fitted it in my case!! ? Sadly the mattress was a bit hard for my liking and gave me a bit of a backache the next morning! Moving onto the bathroom… it was full of marble.. two sinks and a TV in the BATH!!! WHATTT!!! It was mad!! Well, should I say I’m now currently persuading M to install one in our bathroom!

Let’s chat about the food as Maria and I were super hungry! We both couldn’t decide whether to order a burger or Spaghetti Bolognese, and as it was the Ham Yard we had high hopes for dinner. Sadly the bolognese was AWFUL, no sauce and very little mincemeat over very dry pasta. So we ordered some fries after, but they arrived warmish and the guy who delivered them and took away our uneaten dinner didn’t even ask if anything was okay, considering the plates were still full! So I was quite disappointed and it’s not what I expected. The food from the other Firmdale hotels have always been great! ?

Check-out the next morning was at midday so it’s perfect if you want a nice lay in! The hotel also has lots of nice lounge areas, a bowling alley, spa and a cinema, so there’s plenty to do while you stay! Have you ever stayed at the Ham Yard Hotel I would love to know how your stay was!?
