If you’ve been reading my blog for a while you’ll know M and I love going away and finding new places to stay. For our anniversary M had booked The Swan in Southwold. He thought I hadn’t heard of it, however I’d actually sent him it a few months… shows how much notice he takes to my messages ? The good thing was they’re dog friendly so we could take Arthur. Well I wouldn’t class them as 100% dog friendly — he was allowed in our Garden Room but not in the main hotel which was a real shame as we were looking forward to enjoying the lounge with a pot of tea about 4ish when everything was closed. But it was okay as so many places in Southwold are dog-friendly.
When I saw The Swan online I loved the interiors! I love anything that inspires me for home decor. The room was so nice and when we arrived we headed to reception where the staff were so friendly and helpful and interested in saying hello to Arthur. They actually wanted to keep him!
We headed for a wander around Southwold as M and I have never been before. Southwold wasn’t massive but they did have quite a few shops. I spotted a really cool place for Fish and Chips which we remembered for dinner that evening (I took an Instagram of the place so make sure you’re following me on Instagram as I have been uploading lots of Southwold snaps!). As it wasn’t dinner time yet but we were hungry we headed for some churros and a cup of tea at Harris & James, who were also dog-friendly!
We headed back to the room as it was starting to get cold and dark. In our room was a dog bed for Arthur and all the essentials. There was a draughts board which M and I had a game of, which was really nice rather than being on our phones and just spending time chilling playing. Although I did spend some time on my phone trying to figure out which colour Farrow & Ball paint the walls were!!! ?
The next morning we ordered room service for breakfast, I had a full English (minus the beans and black pudding!) and M had Egg Benedict. He definitely got the tastier breakfast out of the two of us! Whoops!
I really enjoyed our stay at The Swan and we all had a lovely couple of days away by the sea. I don’t think I would go back with Arthur as we didn’t want to leave him on his own in the room but we also feel like we didn’t get to fully experience the hotel. I also feel like the garden rooms should have been slightly cheaper as I felt like we weren’t really staying in a hotel as we couldn’t use the bar, living areas or restaurant.
Anway’s guy’s thanks for reading! Have you ever been to Southwold?!
