The Christmas break is my favourite time to go through all my old cr*p and make room for all my new stuff! While I was clearing out the good old Urban Outfitters Drawers where I store my stash of makeup I thought I would take photos of my most used and favourite products of 2018.
I’m starting with my most used eye shadow palette which is the Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette. I used this palette nearly every day and my two most used colours are Low Bow and Sauced! I always use the Urban Decay Primer Potion and it’s amazing. I’ve been using it ever since I received one in a goodie bag way before I even started my blog (obviously I’ve gone through a few since then, but I always end up going back to replace it once I run out!). In 2019 I’m determined to try the Nars eye primer as Anna always goes on about how amazing it is… and tbh I trust her!
On my lashes I’ve been using the Givenchy Noir Couture Volume Black Taffetas. It was a sample I picked up somewhere along the way and I love it! I haven’t really fallen in love with any other mascaras this year so I’ve just been using up all my older ones! This year I’m on a hunt to find a new favourite so give me a shout if there’s any you think I should try!
For brows I only ever use the Rimmel Brow Pencil, it’s great and stays on all day and is super cheap. I also love the brush on the end to brush the product out a bit!
I have 3 moisturiser favourites this year and these are the 3 I’ve always been going back to. Although there is one out of these 3 which has to be the best… I’ve only had it for about a month but I’ve used it morning and night since the day I was gifted it! It’s the Environ Vita Antioxidant Avst Moisturiser 1. You start with number 1 and the moisturisers go up to 5 getting stronger each step! It has a bit of a funny smell which I don’t mind it but it’s a mix of biscuit and coffee. I actually quite like the smell! Rachel from Rachel Eve recommended it and gifted me it! There will be a blog post soon about my visit to her salon! The other two are the Olay Total Effects Day Moisturiser Fragrance Free 7-in-1 Anti-Ageing and the La Roche-Posay Effaclar K[+] Anti-Blemish Moisturiser. I will be honest, I bought the last one due to Zoe Sugg shouting it out and using it! I really liked it but now my skin is clearer (since visiting Rachel Eve) I haven’t need to use this one!
Primers! I love a good primer! If you get the base of your make up right then it sets you up for a good makeup day! My two favourites are Laura Mercier Foundation Radiance Primer and the Smashbox Cosmetics Photo Finish Primerizer. I bought the small Smashbox one to try it out as it’s not the cheapest, however I’ve already finished it and will be replacing it ASAP!! The primer is really lightweight and sinks into your face nice and quickly!
Moving onto foundations, which there is only one favourite but in two shades (I still can’t decide which shade I prefer!). It’s the Estee Lauder Doublewear and I LOVE it! This year I’m going to find something lighter and learn to look after my skin so I can wear less makeup, as I find doublewear it pretty heavy! The 2 shades I have are Pebble and Ecru. I use the Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder in Translucent and when this one runs out I’m going to try the new glow one!
Okay, so for blush it’s got to be the Nars Orgasm, and for my bronzer it’s the Marc Jacobs O!mega Perfect Tan Bronzer. I’m pretty sure these were my favourites last year too. (yep I just watched my 2017 favourites on YouTube and the blush was in there!) I’m still getting through the same one and I love the colour, it’s my perfect blush and I don’t think I will find one that beats it! I also spotted the Tarte Cosmetics highlighter in there which was a tiny sample and it’s still not run out yet — it just shows you how long it lasts!
There’s 4 favourite lipsticks here, I’m a big fan of a good lipstick! My everyday go-to lipstick is the Bobbi Brown in Cabana which is a great everyday colour… I’m not a big fan of nudes so this is the perfect alternative! The Rimmel Lipstick 003 is my next favourite and the staying power of Rimmel lipsticks is great! When I heard Glossier had reformulated their lipsticks I had to order one… the packaging is so much better however I still think the staying power isn’t great. I really like the colours and feel of them on your lips though! Lastly is the NARS Velvet Gloss Lip Pencil in Baroque I really love the colour and it works well with the Rimmel lipstick!
