Yessss I know it’s July and it’s a bit late for New Year’s resolutions, but recently I have been making a few changes to my life. We recently decorated our bedroom which has made it a calming space!
I have been reading Notes on a Nervous Planet By Matt Haig and the timing has been great really! When we moved into our bedroom again after the work was done I knew I wanted to keep my phone out the bedroom at nighttime. For years I have been wasting evenings scrolling rather than reading! This was the perfect opportunity to bring in the change! I can’t believe I read a whole book in less than a month by making these changes, maybe I will hit my book target this year (I have a set target of how many books I want to read this year… remember this post!?)
Something else I’ve been doing for a while is fasting. There’s an app called Zero which I use and there‘s tons of info and research on it within the app. I wanted to try it out just because it stops me from eating a whole cupboard of chocolate before 11am. It’s made me release I don’t need to always be eating…. Weight-wise I haven’t lost anything sadly as I would like to lose a little bit just so I can fit back into my Topshop raw hem jeans! We will get there guys! Anyways overall I love the app and how it tracks how long your fast is and counts down for you! I do half break the rules by having a coffee in the morning, but I just don’t function until I have had one!
Next I’ve been doing the couch to 5k and I’m at WEEK 5 I’m pretty shocked myself… tbh I found it pretty easy until week 4, then it’s been a struggle, but the heat really hasn’t helped it. It took me two weeks to do week 4 instead of one, but I definitely think it’s important to listen to your body. I’m really enjoying getting out in the fresh air and running, it feels so good even if I can barely move the next day!
While we’re talking about fitness, the other thing I have been loving is going weekly to Pilates — I love it! I would love to find somewhere in Cambridge that does reformer pilates I would really like to try it! Recommendations in the comments below please!
